Bermuda: Attractions
Bermuda's cultural diversity is reflected in island cuisine. Local flavors include favorites such as fish chowder, shark hash, and codfish cakes. British-style pubs serve up bangers and mash. Fine dining includes Continental cuisine prepared by top European chefs in sophisticated settings, several with ocean vistas.

Accommodations are just as varied. Bermuda offers a selection of resort hotels, charming guest houses, and even the island's own unique "cottage colony"--intimate cottage units spread throughout landscaped grounds and offering all the services of a resort hotel. Actor Michael Douglas, Bermudan by birth, owns such a property on the island's south shore.

To get around this 21 mile-long isle there are no rental cars; hop on a moped or pedal bike instead and tour one end of Bermuda to the other. On the way, you'll pass pastel homes with whitewashed, limestone roofs. Intimate lanes bordered with pink oleander and hibiscus bushes. Secluded coves and singing tree frogs. It's no wonder that Bermuda rates as one of the world's top honeymoon destinations.

Throughout the year, special events complement the visitor experience. While you may want to check an island calendar for more details, headliners include the Festival of Performing Arts (January), Bermuda International Film Festival (April), Tall Ships Race (June) and the Bermuda Jazz Festival (September).
